Our position on AI games

We were four years into SAB when AI learned to build a game in an afternoon. That stung. Then it made us curious.

We don’t think this is going away. AI-built games cost far less to make, and they’re getting good. Studios will release them by the hundreds, and most games will probably be made this way. Plenty of players distrust them today. We don’t expect to change anyone’s mind with words. The games will have to do it.

From finishing a line to building the whole thing

Who does the workPersonAI

  1. AI completes

It finishes a line of code.

  2. AI advises

It explains errors and reviews the work.

  3. AI co-writes

A person and AI write together. The person still decides.

  4. The roles swap

AI writes. The person reads, corrects and steers.

  5. AI works in teams

Several AIs work at once, faster than anyone can read.

  6. AI builds everything

AI builds the whole thing. A person plays it and judges it; if it’s flawed, it gets rebuilt, not repaired.

    Our AI games

Our AI games are built at step 6. SAB and SAG are human-made.

So we do both. The AI games are ideas we would never have had time to build. SAB is the one we could not hand over.

Each AI game is our idea, built by AI at very little cost and marked AI-made. SAB stays our main project, and SAG comes after it.

We’re not saying games should be made by AI. Ours replace nobody: without AI, they wouldn’t exist. We publish them because they’re fun.

We think people will keep making games themselves, for the pleasure of it. We certainly will.
